Description

As per sources, on November 27, 2022, Colombian healthcare provider Keralty was hit by a RansomHouse ransomware attack which resulted in the disruption of its websites and operations, as well as subsidiaries. Keralty has a worldwide network of 12 hospitals and 371 medical facilities across Latin America, Spain, the United States, and Asia. This organization employs 24000 workers with 10,000 medical doctors who provide healthcare to over 6 million patients. Keralty also offers healthcare services through its subsidiaries Colsanitas, Sanitas USA, and EPS Sanitas. Initially, on November 28, 2022, Keralty stated it experienced some technical issues, but on December 1, 2022, it confirmed that it suffered from a cyber-attack that impacted the company's internal systems and resulted in technical failures of the systems. After discovering the incident, Keralty said that they are continuing to provide service to its patients with the help of both the technical and medical team, and initiated a criminal investigation with associated authorities. In addition, a Twitter user named 'Alexander' tweeted a screenshot of a VMware ESXi server with a ransom note displaying 'Dear Keralty,' which shows evidence that the ransomware group had hit Keralty. Additionally, the RansomHouse ransomware group claimed to have stolen 3TB of data from the organization, but it has not yet been confirmed what data has been stolen.
