Last year, Zacks Investment Research Group announced a breach in which some client records were accessed without authorization and personal and sensitive information belonging to 820,000 customers was exposed between November 2021 and August 2022. Zacks employs cutting-edge financial data analytics algorithms to assist investors in making stock selections. Based on an internal investigation, the threat actor gained network access and exposed information such as full names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and passwords of Zacks.com users. The incident only affected customers of the Zacks Elite product who joined between November 1999 and February 2005. However, as stated by the investment research organization, there is no proof of financial data being disclosed. Furthermore, the corporation claims to have installed additional security measures and to be actively working with a cybersecurity specialist to create and install new security systems. Also, the corporation has begun a password reset procedure for hacked accounts, which will require customers to enter new credentials on their next login.
