As per resources, the Vice Society ransomware gang leaked the valuable data stolen from the North Carolina–based company CommScope in its data leak site, including bank details and thousands of employees’ Social Security numbers. The CommScope company manufactures network infrastructure products for various customers, including schools, U.S. federal agencies, and hospitals. As per researchers, the threat actors might have gained much access to the CommScope's network, and exfiltrated backups from the MyCommScope customer portal, as well as about its internal intranet. Also, some of the leaked data was not encrypted and was found to contain data of both CommScope customer and employee information. The leaked data also contain the personal data of thousands of employees such as full names, postal addresses, email addresses, personal numbers, social security numbers, bank account information, scans of employee passports, and visa documentation. CommScope spokesperson Cheryl Przychodni confirmed that the company found unauthorized access to some IT systems and determined that it was the result of a ransomware attack. However, the company did not reveal on how the systems were infected or whether it has received any communication from the Vice Society hackers, and it’s unclear if the company has notified affected employees.
