Description

According to the report, IMS has recently experienced a significant security incident due to a ransomware attack earlier this year, impacting the personal information of over six million individuals. IMS, a global leader in business consulting and IT services primarily serving the insurance and financial sectors, took immediate action upon discovering the breach. They engaged external eDiscovery experts to conduct a thorough review to determine the extent of unauthorized access and acquisition of sensitive data. The compromised data includes Social Security Numbers (SSNs), dates of birth, medical records, biometric data, email addresses, usernames and passwords, driver’s license numbers, financial account details, payment card information, passport numbers, and tribal ID numbers. IMS promptly notified all impacted organizations and individuals, including Oceanview Life and Annuity Company (OLAC), about the breach and the specific personal information affected. To assist those affected, IMS is providing complimentary two-year identity protection and credit monitoring services through Kroll, aimed at mitigating potential risks associated with the exposure of personal information. IMS continues to update the list of impacted parties as more information becomes available and individuals request inclusion in notifications. IMS sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience or concern this incident may cause. Protecting the security and privacy of clients' information remains their utmost priority, and they are committed to implementing additional security measures to prevent future incidents.
