Microsoft has released security updates to address three vulnerabilities in Microsoft Edge that were discovered during Pwn2Own 2026 by Orange Tsai of DEVCORE Research Team. The vulnerabilities, tracked as CVE-2026-45492, CVE-2026-45494, and CVE-2026-45495, could allow attackers to bypass security controls, inject malicious scripts, or execute code on affected systems. The first vulnerability affects Edge's cross device sign in functionality and may allow attackers to access restricted browser features by convincing users to visit a malicious website. The second flaw is a Universal Cross Site Scripting issue that can enable attackers to run malicious scripts within trusted websites viewed by victims. Such attacks can be particularly dangerous in enterprise environments where users have access to sensitive business applications and data. The most severe vulnerability involves improper validation of file paths in Edge's feedback log handling component. Successful exploitation could allow remote code execution in the context of the logged in user. While user interaction is required for exploitation, attackers may chain these vulnerabilities together to increase impact and compromise affected systems. Microsoft has released patches for all three issues and recommends that users update their Edge browsers immediately to reduce exposure to potential attacks.
